CULTURAL CONCERNS

Forced Marriages and Female genital Mutilation (FGM) are just some of the ways children are being abused and exploited.  For some in their culture this is a right of passage and they might not see anything wrong with it. As a community it is our duty to educate around these issues to allow our children the opportunity to make informed educated decisions.

Speaking out against these illegal rituals can be scary and has the potential to ostracise the victim and their family from their community, however, speaking out is the only way that these illegal acts can be stopped.  Support can come in all forms but to start gaining that support we need you to reach out and make a SHARP Report whether it is concerns for yourself or someone you know.

End FGM European Network
